LANSING, Mich. – Bryson Namba delivered a game-winning RBI single in the eighth inning, keying a Lansing Lugnuts (3-0) doubleheader sweep over the Great Lakes Loons (0-3), 4-2 and 4-3, on Saturday afternoon at Cooley Law School Stadium.
In Game 1, Kevin Patterson went 2-for-3 with a double and a go-ahead RBI single, as the Lugnuts defeated the Loons, 4-2.
Reliever Kramer Champlin (Won, 1-0) earned the victory with a pair of scoreless innings in his Lugnuts debut, with closer Ajay Meyer notching the save for the second straight day with a scoreless frame.
Great Lakes starter Brandon Martinez (Loss, 0-1) took the defeat, serving up three runs on five hits and two walks in a 4.1-inning performance.
Lansing starting pitcher Dave Rollins received a no-decision, battling through four innings in which he gave up five hits, two runs and struck out five.
In Game 2, Lugnuts right fielder Kevin Pillar drew a one-out walk from reliever Ryan O’Sullivan (Loss, 0-1), stole second base, and scored on Namba’s line drive to right field, providing Lansing’s first walk-off win of the year.

The Lugnuts went a perfect 8-for-8 in stolen bases during the doubleheader. Pillar led the way with three thefts, while Jon Berti and Markus Brisker each swiped a pair of bags apiece.
After a Sunday off, the Lugnuts begin their first road trip of the year, a seven-game jaunt to Dayton and West Michigan. Prospect left-hander Justin Nicolino receives the start in the Lugs’ next game, a 7:00 p.m. affair on Monday night in Dayton, Ohio.
