Whitecaps cool off Lugnuts, 7-3

COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. – Jordan Lennerton and Michael Rockett belted two-run homers in the fifth inning, powering the West Michigan Whitecaps (7-14) past the Lansing Lugnuts (13-8), 7-3, on Thursday night at Fifth Third Ballpark.

The loss ended Lansing's six-game winning streak and also kept the Lugnuts at 999 total wins in the franchise's 15-year history.

The Whitecaps entered the evening have only scored three runs in last five games, but Mike Gosse's two-run triple capped a three-run third inning and gave West Michigan their first lead in nearly a week.
