LANSING, Mich. – Do you have a brilliant idea to benefit your community?  Make your pitch, and the Lansing Lugnuts and Fifth Third Bank could help make your idea a reality!

The Lugnuts and Fifth Third Bank are announcing a new community initiative, “Pitch-A-Project.”

Pitch-A-Project is a grant program aimed at empowering Mid-Michiganders with ideas to better their neighborhoods in the Greater Lansing community.

“Fifth Third Bank is very proud to be a member of the Mid-Michigan community, and we are delighted about our partnership with the Lansing Lugnuts,” said Jason Sanders, Mid-Michigan Market President.  “For us, this sponsorship represents a commitment to the community and to the families that we serve.”

Each project must fall under one of Fifth Third Bank’s four pillars of community building – Economic Development, Education, Wellness and Community Service – with a winner selected from each category.

Those four categories are defined on the Pitch-A-Project page of the Lansing Lugnuts website, www.lansinglugnuts.com, along with registration information and project requirements.  Information will also be available at a special table set up on the concourse at Cooley Law School Stadium during all Lugnuts home games and at local Fifth Third Bank branches.

The deadline for registration is June 22nd, at which time the Greater Lansing community will vote in-park (during select Lugnuts games) and online in order to determine the winner in each category.  Each of the four winners selected for each category will be awarded $1,000 to bring their idea to life.

“We’re excited about our new partnership with Fifth Third Bank, and the opportunity to give back to the Greater-Lansing community through Pitch-A-Project,” said Lugnuts General Manager Pat Day.  “Fifth Third Bank does so many great things around Mid-Michigan, we’re happy to be able to get our fans involved and we can’t wait to see what project ideas are submitted.”
