LISTEN TO PILLAR'S SIX HITS

LANSING, Mich. – Lansing Lugnuts outfielder Kevin Pillar has been honored as the Midwest League Batter of the Week for May 7-13.

In his first year in the Midwest League, Pillar distinguished himself with a 6-for-6, 3-run, 6-RBI performance in a 16-4 victory on Saturday at Dayton, capping the game with a grand slam.  In the process, the 23-year-old Californian tied both the Lugnuts and Midwest League records for most hits in a game.

In all, Pillar batted .536 during the week, collecting 15 hits, notching 12 RBIs, scoring five runs and stealing four bases in six games.

He becomes the first Lugnut to receive the weekly honor in 2012.

The Eastern Division-leading Lansing Lugnuts (25-11) play the third game in a four-game series at 7:00 p.m against the Dayton Dragons at Fifth Third Field this evening.

Lansing returns home on a Ladies Night, Wednesday, May 16th, to open a three-game series against Fort Wayne at Cooley Law School Stadium. Tickets are available for purchase online at www.lansinglugnuts.com, at the stadium box office, and by calling 517-485-4500.
