Lugnuts annual jersey auction starts today

LANSING– The Lansing Lugnuts are proud to announce the 2008 Lugnuts Jersey Auction. The team will be auctioning off the road jerseys worn by the Lugnuts during the last two seasons. The auction will conclude on Lugnuts Charities Night presented by Dan Henry Distributing as the Lugnuts take on the Fort Wayne Wizards on August 22, 2007 in a 7:05 p.m. game. All of the proceeds from the auction will go to Lugnuts Charities benefiting the United Way .Capital Area United Way
 
“We are very excited about
Lugnuts Charities Night,” General Manager Pat Day said. “The Lugnuts are committed to helping the greater Lansing community . The auction is an exciting event that both benefits the community and gives Lugnuts fans the opportunity to own a unique piece of their hometown team.
 
The auction
is currently underway on the Lugnuts official website, www.lansinglugnuts.com. The web auction will run through Friday, August 22, 2008 at noon. Starting bids will be $95.00 for each jersey. At the close of the website auction, the highest bids will be used as starting bids at the live silent auction during Lugnuts Charities Night presented by Dan Henry Distributing on August 22, 2008. At the conclusion of the live silent auction on the 22nd, the winners will be announced. Winning bidders may claim their jerseys after the announcement in an on-field ceremony.
 
Fans who are unable to attend the game on August
22nd are encouraged to place the highest possible bid on their favorite players’ jerseys to give them their best chance to win the jersey.
 
Up for auction are the jerseys of all current
Lansing Lugnuts coaches and players as well as some from last year. The jerseys include first round draft picks Kevin Ahrens, Justin Jackson, Trystan Magnuson, David Cooper, and Travis Snider.  All jerseys come with a red Lansing Lugnuts undershirt of corresponding size.

“We are happy to help the community by auctioning off our
uniforms,” Lugnuts manager Clayton McCullough said. “This community has really taken care of us in our time here, so we are always excited when we can give something back.
 
Fans are encouraged to bid on their favorite players' jerseys.
 
Lugnuts Charities Night, presented, by Dan Henry Distributing will take place on August 22, 2008. There will be several ceremonies and check presentations throughout the night honoring various charities in the Lansing area. Fans in attendance will also be treated a a spectacular LAFCU Fireworks show following the game and jersey ceremony.
